Hey all,
Ryan here from Ottawa, Ontario Canada. I'm working on a 1996 Glastron 4.3L Volvo Penta that's been in the family for years — it belonged to my uncle who passed away in 2020, and I'm keeping it alive to honor him.
Mostly, we cruise on Wolfe Lake near Westport, ontario, but recently I hit by a massive wave on the Ottawa River, and the boat shut off completely. So right now I'm deep into troubleshooting electrical issues (6 fuses blown) — figuring out what got fried or shorted after that wave slammed us.
The boat's also got the usual '90s quirks — hydraulic lift, worn flooring (thinking cedar or PVC deck swap), and a power steering leak somewhere — but electrical is top priority at the moment.
I'm pretty hands-on and run OttawaDIY.com, so I'm not scared of tearing into the wiring harness or anything. Would love to connect with anyone here who's dealt with electrical gremlins on similar Glastron setups.
