I've recently began having problems with my 2003 Glastron SX 195 where the fuel gauge is either jumping all over the place or get stuck. It's all random and I'm suspecting it could be the fuel sender unit going bad, but I'd like to double check. if so, how much work is it involved to replace it and I'd also could use some model recommendations?

To be completely honest, most marine fuel gauges are junk from the factory, manufacturers cheap out, knowing owners won't prioritize fixing them until they're stranded once

The sender unit could definitely be the culprit especially with erratic readings like that. Replacing it is not too bad if you can access it easily under the rear deck or fuel tank hatch. Most people go with Moeller or Wema replacement senders for reliability
